The IDE offers Go-specific code assistance that includes code formatting and completion of variables, types, and functions.
We believe that all of our clients should be able to modify their code as they wish. That is why we have introduced a simple editing mode in the GoLand 2020.2 EAP build. With this in place, you can simply edit your Go code in GoLand, then forget about it as it is now synced with your machine automatically.
We decided to start scanning
pkg subdirectories in
godoc -h generates
~/go/pkg/mod for you. You can disable this feature from the
Go settings window on the Go item menu. We have just added this feature to
GoLand because we do not want you to recompile all of your projects when the IDE scans. You can always build, test and run your code from command line if needed.
GoLand now supports changing the
GOOS value of Go projects. The
GOOS option can be found in the
Go settings window on the
Go item menu. If you cannot change the OS value by hand, you can always use the
Go Modules migration tool to do it for you.
GoLand now allows to conveniently use the code completion in the editor via

JetBrains GoLand 2022.2 Review
We have a new release of GoLand Ready to try. In this edition of the IntelliJ Ready to Try series, we are looking at the latest version of GoLand, 2020.3.2. For example, we are looking at all updates that are available in the JetBrains Toolbox App, whether they are already included in the upcoming version or not. Since this Ready to Try series is going to be published on a regular basis, you can expect that the series itself will stay more up-to-date than the current version of GoLand. Yes, today we are reviewing the last edition of GoLand 2020.3, and what is new in it. But we are still at the very early stages of this upcoming release, so we wont be able to cover the full set of available updates in the tool. Follow us @JetBrains on Twitter for all the latest news!
Even though GoLand 2020.3 is released and available to try already, you still have a few days to get it installed and updated to it. And since there are so many updates to GoLand 2020.3, this means that there are quite a few to review. However, there are only a few important changes that are worth mentioning in this update. This is because the majority of changes in this new edition are still in the realm of polishing, and we dont think they are worth highlighting. But a few of the changes that we can talk about are JBR-3781 search improvements, which are especially handy if you use code completion, JBR-3777 IDE performance improvements, JBR-3779 IME input language support, JBR-3757 Show long path icons in the Project View, JBR-3749 Static analysis of the new imports, and lastly the stuff that is included in the new GoLand 2019.3 Final release. And since the source code has been updated to the latest development version of Go 1.12, this means that you might have noticed a few more changes in the IDE already.
